Our New Cabin north of Homer Alaska June 2005

Mary and I are very excited about our new log home Alaska, just North of Homer.  The project should be completed next summer, which is where we intend to spend our summers. Alaska is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, it is among some of the finest fishing in the world, amazing wildlife and views that will take your breath away.  To top it off we are living among some of the most friendly people you can find.  If you are in the area look us up, however, one nice feature is no TV, no Phone, no internet, just nature, but I am sure some of the locals will know what direction to point you.  I hope to create many new wildlife works while living there, watch for new prints in the future, inspired by this amazing location.

Arts & Artists in Arizona

Local artist, Bruce Sink, works in several mediums: oils, scratchboard, sculptures, etchings in wood and stone, and his personal favorites watercolors and egg tempera. Hundreds of Bruce’s beautifull works adorn the walls of his home. His passion is clearly the natural world around him, including landscapes, people, wildlife and, in particular, birds of prey, and game fish. Bruce's paintings reflect a passionate interest in the control of light, color, texture, viewpoint and composition. The result, dramatic and pleasing images which ferry the viewer beyond the mere image itself, invoking deep thought and stirring feelings of passion for the natural world. For more than 30 years, Bruce has made annual pilgrimages to exotic and remote locations around the world in pursuit of his two greatest passions; painting and fishing. His watercolor tools have accompanied him countless times to exotic locations such as several provinces of Canada, Alaska, Australia, England, France, Puerto Rico, the Florida Keys, Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic, the Pacific, Idaho, Montana, the Artic Circle, and the Virgin Islands. Bruce’s personal art collection beautifully showcases the land and wildlife from each of these memorable outings. Bruce studied art at Columbus College of Art and Design and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Otterbein College . He has participated in and won several juried exhibitions including the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, the Ohio State Fair, the Artreach Hawaii exhibit, and the Westerville Arts Festival. Gallery exhibits of the artist's work include the Carousel Gallery, Nationwide Gallery, and the Columbus museum of Art Collector 's gallery. Bruce's works are currently on display in several public and private collections including the Reynoldburg Public Library, Ross Laboratory, and Bank One in Columbus, OH . Bruce has taught aqua media painting and has judged several prestigious national art exhibits. He has also been a member and officer of several art leagues across the US . Bruce has lived in many parts of the United States including Maryland , New York, North Carolina , Ohio and Texas . He now makes his home in Arizona & Alaska with his wife Mary.
